anyways, excellent rant Sarai. Though I kinda disagree on it being a western thing, and just a guy thing in general. Still it shouldn't be accepted regardless.
Don't worry though, that balance you speak of is there. The aggressive nerds get balanced out with the super shallow. Both are lame defense mechanisms, and one needs patience to weed through it to find the tru personalities underneath.
